Boomers Bookworms
Mission Statement
To foster a love of reading by developing a literacy program rooted in baseball and to strengthen such skills, encouraging the youth in the Sanford-Springvale community to gain the confidence they need to positively engage with the world around them.
Program Guidelines and Instructions
- Record your reading progress and make your way around the bases to earn free admission (two tickets) to one of the following Sanford Mainers official Boomer's Bookworms Nights
- Sunday - July 12, 2026 - 4:30pm
- Sunday - July 19, 2026 - 4:30pm
- Shade in the arrows for each 15 minutes of reading to make your way to each base
- Students participating through their school can turn their finished reading log into their classroom teachers
- Homeschool or nontraditional students can download a reading log from the link below (each student may complete up to two reading logs). Once completed, please make sure to fill out student information completely and mail reading logs to the Sanford Mainers front office.
- Take another reading log with you and get back to reading for a chance to win an additional two tickets to one of the above listed nights! You could take your whole family!
- Boomer's Bookworms 2026 program will conclude on March 30. Please make sure all reading logs are submitted to your child's teacher or postmarked to the Sanford Mainers front office by this date.

Reading Log Documents
If your child has completed his or her reading log, please have them submit it to their teacher or mail it in to the Sanford Mainers front office at the address listed below. You can download and print a new copy of the reading log below to be submitted by Monday, March 30th.
